In Alfred Hitchcock’s films, what he called the MacGuffin  -  such as the secret papers which the spies are after  -     is the engine which sets the story in motion.  But in terms of the drama, the actual nature of the MacGuffin is of no importance whatsoever.

The 20th Birthday Celebrations - Stephen and Jimmy's Party - 29th May 1988
Stephen Knox and Jimmy Tagoe created the last of the three parties. 3-10pm Kevin Rowan's & Nicky Dewison's Party (for Blackie regulars aged 12 and under). Rainbow Mice - for Chinese New Year - 1984
The Blackie is next to Chinatown and we have long taken some part in the Chinese New Year celebrations.  In 1984, the Year of The Rat, (re-branded as the Year Of The Mouse – don’t ask) we did a street stall with trays of sugar mice in the 6 rainbow colours.  The many people who come to see the Dragon Dance and celebrate Chinese New Year were invited to make a wish for the New Year and enjoy a sugar mouse. Rainbows at Dinner - Set Of Rainbow Mats - 1982
A set of six table mats each with a rainbow image and a set of 6 coasters each boxed.  The rainbow images were drawn from previous rainbow events and are set against a white background.  The coasters contained proposals for the formation of a Rainbow Party.   Rainbow images used:-  1.
