In December 1980, a few days before Christmas, the Blackie learned (in company with 40 other Projects nationally) it would not receive a grant from Arts Council of Great Britain in the coming year. This meant the loss, in our 12th year, of 40% of our regular financial support. A strong dose of bad news to start off 1981. Read More

A Question of Equity - April 1990
 A Question of  Equity was a piece of Research as to the situation of women in the arts on Merseyside.  It was undertaken by Wendy Harpe and funded by Merseyside Arts.  It was a result of work done by The Women in Arts Research Group which was based at the Blackie, but which operated under the auspice of Mersyside Arts which provided administrative back up. Directors Report On Lorry Theatre - 1969
