The Arts Of Survival

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

In December 1980, a few days before Christmas, the Blackie learned (in company with 40 other Projects nationally) it would not receive a grant from Arts Council of Great Britain in the coming year.

This meant the loss, in our 12th year, of 40% of our regular financial support. A strong dose of bad news to start off 1981.

But - on the basis we were determined to survive - and that a survival campaign needed to be fun as well as effective - we brought out  'The Arts of Survival' : a dossier of 6 different schemes to involve people in contributing their creativity   - as well as their money - to the Blackie.
